Apollo Solar Technology Nominated for Two SAPVIA Industry Awards 2026
25 June 2026
For nearly two decades, we have watched South Africa’s relationship with energy evolve from a crisis of constraint into an era of profound opportunity. We have transitioned from a nation waiting for the lights to come back on to a country actively building its own decentralised, clean power grid.
Today, as we continue to manufacture, design, and deploy the infrastructure driving this shift, we are proud to share a major milestone: Apollo Solar Technology was honored to be nominated in two prestigious categories at the 2026 SAPVIA Industry Awards, hosted annually by the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA). These nominations recognised our efforts and achievements in advancing South Africa’s renewable energy sector, highlighting the dedication, innovation, and expertise of our team, partners, installers, and customers who have contributed to the growth of solar energy across the country.

The SAPVIA Industry Awards recognise the trailblazers, innovators, and leaders transforming South Africa’s solar PV landscape. Out of a highly competitive pool of national operators, Apollo Solar Technology has been named a finalist for:
1. The Solar EPC Award: This category recognises outstanding Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) excellence. In the utility and commercial solar sectors, an EPC contractor is the master orchestrator – Responsible for everything from initial site assessments, structural and electrical engineering, and sourcing tier-one components, to the physical installation and grid synchronization of large-scale solar arrays.
2. The Solar PV Localisation Champion Award: For South Africa’s energy transition to be truly sustainable, it cannot rely solely on imported technology. This award celebrates organisations that have made exceptional contributions to strengthening South Africa’s solar manufacturing capabilities, creating local jobs, and strengthening supply chain resilience.

Our Journey: From Solar Geysers to Multi-Disciplinary Powerhouses
As South Africa’s energy challenges grew, so did we. We evolved from a solar water heating specialist into a fully integrated, multi-disciplinary renewable energy provider. Today, our product portfolio includes:
- Solar Water Heating (SWH): Industry-standard high-pressure, low-pressure and split retrofit solar geyser systems.
- Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Solutions: Tailored commercial, industrial, and residential solar arrays.
- Energy Storage & Inverters: Intelligent battery backup and hybrid UPS systems engineered to keep businesses running through grid instability.
- Solar Borehole Pumps: Transforming agricultural efficiency and rural water access across Southern Africa.
Celebrating the Progress of our Industry
While these nominations carry our name, we know they belong to our entire ecosystem. We extend our deepest gratitude to our employees, certified installers, partners, and customers. Your trust and hard work make achievements like this possible. We also want to take this opportunity to congratulate our peers and the winners of the 2026 SAPVIA Awards, including:
- The SOLA Group
- GoSolr
- SUNCybernetics
- LOPILE TECH
- Energy 4 Hope
- Solareff
- Microcare Solar Energy
- Wessel Wessels
- Jo-Ann MacPherson Mathivha
These nominations represent more than just a celebration of past achievements; they serve as a powerful catalyst for our future. At Apollo Solar Technology, we believe that the true measure of our success is built on the lasting impact we leave on South African communities. As we look ahead, we remain deeply committed to investing in local talent, refining our engineering capabilities, and expanding access to reliable, sustainable energy.
