Apollo Solar Technology Celebrates Mandela Day

Apollo Solar Technology Celebrates Mandela Day: 67 food parcels. One Purpose. Collective Impact.

In the spirit of Nelson Mandela’s enduring legacy and the global call to dedicate 67 minutes to making a difference, we at Apollo Solar Technology proudly embraced the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our community. As a company grounded in sustainable energy solutions, we believe that true impact lies in combining innovation with social responsibility.

This Mandela Day, we sought not only to honour one of the world’s most respected humanitarians but also to empower local communities through a tangible act of kindness. Guided by Mandela’s belief in the collective power of community to drive meaningful change, we coordinated a food drive aimed at supporting BELACAAS, a remarkable black female-owned non-governmental organisation that exemplifies resilience and entrepreneurial spirit.

Founded by a BEE-accredited entrepreneur who previously operated a successful catering business, BELACAAS has since evolved into a vital source of support for families in need. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted her operations, she responded with purpose by pivoting to community service and forming strategic partnerships with retailers such as Woolworths Food, Pick n Pay, and vendors at The Glen market. Her ability to adapt and continue serving her community resonates deeply with our own values of resilience, innovation, and partnership.

We rallied our team to donate non-perishable goods throughout the month, culminating in the assembly of 67 food parcels, each representing a year Nelson Mandela dedicated to public service.

At Apollo Solar Technology, we recognise that true sustainability is multifaceted. It encompasses environmental consciousness, social inclusion, and active community support. Our Mandela Day initiative reflects this belief and reinforces the understanding that acts of service are not only powerful but essential.

This food drive represents more than a single day of giving. It is a reaffirmation of our ongoing commitment to corporate citizenship, where every individual effort contributes to a legacy of hope, dignity, and meaningful change.

As we continue to grow, we remain guided by Mandela’s example, using our platform not only to power homes but also to uplift communities.
